Sonic the Hedgehog's 23rd Birthday
It's that time of year again, the 23rd of June marks the official release of Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Megadrive/Genesis making this year the blue blur's 23rd birthday.
And of course, being the massive Sonic dork I am, it's time to celebrate.
I kicked off the day with a trip to the shop for supplies for the rest of the day, then home for breakfast.
Tea and Coffee with cinnamon spin attacks. Jordan also had a Wispa....or should that be...Wisp-a?....you know....like Sonic colours?....the aliens?...
Jordan headed off to work and I indulged in a little Sonic Generations to get in the mood....
...as well as the original game. 23 years old and still a blast.
Sonic watched from next to the tv, he would have been jumping around the place but his kness are going in his old age, bless him.
Our entertainment for the night, Sonic the Movie for myself before I went out to workk, and Wreck-It Ralph for the evening.
"You might know everything I'm going to do, but that's not going to help you since I know everything YOU'RE going to do. STRANGE ISN'T IT?!"
Even found the time to do a little fan art. Nothing special, my skills are a little rusty right now and I've always sucked at drawing Sonic anyway. He's holding his scarf from Sonic Boom ad walking off, symbolising the glorious and exciting future ahead of him...or something like that...
Also some Eggman fanart, after all, it's his birthday too.
Then it was time for the fun to end....off to work. Boo.
But today, I had a sneaky secret....
...always representin'
Jordan came home from work and started on the dinner. What did we have? Why every hedgehog's favourite, Chilli Dogs of course.
She even arranged some of my figures around the living room which was an awesome surprise when I came home.
Finally it was time foor dinner. Chilli dogs and liquified hedgehogs. The dinner of champions.
Chef Charlemagne's Choice Chilli Dogs
My body is ready...
Some after dinner entertainment in the form of Wresck-It Ralph
And finallly to wrap up the evening, some friendly cimpetition in the form of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing.
Thanks as ever to Jordan for being generally awesome, putting up with my childish obsessions and making the best Chilli Dogs on Mobius.
And of course, Happy Birthday Sonic.
....you too Eggman.
